We attended the 15th International Symposium on Fire Safety Science, La Rochelle, France. A Ph.D. student in our group presented a poster on fire whirls. フランスで開催された火災科学に関する国際シンポジウムに参加しました．博士後期課程の学生さんが火災旋風について研究発表しました．

Ban-san, an international student from Vietnam, has received the Student Presentation Award of the Japan Association for Fire Science and Engineering. Congratulations! ベトナム出身の留学生Banさんが日本火災学会学生奨励賞を受賞しました．おめでとうございます！

TUS students are presenting their research at the 2026 JAFSE (Japan Association for Fire Science and Engineering) Symposium. There were many other presentations by TUS students, but I forgot to take pictures... 東京理科大学の学生さんが2026年度日本火災学会研究発表会で発表しています．もっと多くの学生さんが発表していたのですが，写真を撮り忘れてしまいました． I somehow managed to get my slides ready for my talk on hot-surface ignition of a combustible premixture, barely in time. 私も可燃性予混合気体の熱面着火について発表しました．スライド作成がギリギリ間に合いました． In this calculation, a temperature controller attempts to set the (normalized) surface temperature at x = 0 to 0.6, but it fails, resulting in explosive flame propagation. この計算は，壁面温度（無次元）を0.6に制御しようとしていますが失敗し，爆発してしまう様子を表しています．

We had a meeting on wildfire modeling in Kanazawa on May 20. 5月20日に金沢で林野火災の延焼シミュレーションに関して打ち合わせをしました．大きな椎の木がありました． On May 23, we had a fire experiment class at the Noda Campus. Tokyo University of Science is a unique university where students can conduct flashover experiments in class! 5月23日には野田キャンパスで火災実験の授業がありました．東京理科大学は授業でフラッシュオーバーの実験ができる珍しい大学です． On May 24, Prof. Ritsu Dobashi (TUS), Prof. Toshio Mogi (U. Tokyo), and I visited Hiroshima University to discuss explosion research with Prof. Wookyung Kim. 5月24日には土橋律先生（東京理科大学），茂木俊夫先生（東京大学）と広島大学に行って，金佑勁先生と爆発研究の打ち合わせをしました． On May 25, I returned to the Kagurazaka Campus of TUS to meet with a student and teach a class on fire-extinguishing science until 9:20 pm. 25日に広島から戻りました．これから学生さんと研究打ち合わせのあと21時過ぎまで消火科学の授業をします．
